Let Jerry’s expertise go to work for you in four key and interrelated areas: leadership, internal operations, knowledge management, and education and training.

Research Reports, Market Studies and White Papers

In 2007, we provided research reports and white papers for a number of clients. Yudelson Associates has developed a special expertise in higher education sustainability programming and planning. In 2006, we introduced the GIST Toolkit to higher education at the first annual conference of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). The GIST Toolkit is a family of methods and methodologies that help colleges and universities Gain Impact and Save Time in sustainability efforts. Our white paper outlines the GIST Toolkit. Sustainable Building Advisory Services at Yudelson Associates

Yudelson Associates’ principal, Jerry Yudelson, PE, has a long history of incorporating energy efficiency and indoor air quality considerations into his client’s projects.  He helps engineers and designers work with architects, owners and other consultants to incorporate green features or sustainability factors into the design of each building.  Consideration of sustainable design issues for both energy and water-using systems is a priority for Jerry - as a green building consultant, he sees his mission as providing services to clients that save them money and, at the same time, protect the environment. Get Jerry involved in your next project to “sell” the business case for sustainable building and to coach the design and construction team to reach these goals.

Our job is to help a client understand life-cycle costs as well as first costs. We help set goals for “payback” of project features related to energy and water efficiency and work with design teams to come up with creative solutions that minimize first cost, while providing increased levels of energy and water efficiency. We also provide counsel on what levels of technology are appropriate for today’s occupancy while providing flexibility for future building uses.

Jerry Yudelson and Yudelson Associates have involvment in a number of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDâ„¢) projects, including the LEED-certified Tacoma (WA) Police Headquarters and Vehicle Maintenance Facilities, the Midstate Electric LEED Gold project in LaPine, Oregon, and several design-stage projects in Arizona.

Jerry Yudelson and Yudelson Associates are experts in assessing opportunities for partnering and accessing available incentive and grant funds for LEED-related projects. One such project is the Ethos Music Center LEED-Platinum project in Portland, where Jerry assisted in writing a grant application to the Kresge Foundation that was funded at the $100,000 level for sustainable design studies.

From 2004 to 2007, Jerry has participated in the development of the LEED for Core and Shell (LEED-CS) standard, aimed at the development industry, and as chair of the steering committee for three of the U.S. Green Building Council’s annual “Greenbuild” international conferences, the world’s largest green building events.

Jerry has been a member of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Board of Directors and has served as a national LEED faculty member since 2001.  As a sustainability expert, he frequently publishes in national trade and professional publications on green building design, economics, marketing and other sustainability issues.
